Children. We are a family business and welcome your family into our store, but ask that you keep a few things in mind.  We stock expensive firearms, optics, and some fragile items and ask that your children do not play with, hang on , touch, climb, or drop any of the items we have for sale.  Also, no running, skipping, hopping, or breakdancing in the store.  In other words, please watch your kids.

Our Products. We strive to be certain the information contained in this website is accurate, both in word and in pictures, but with our manufacturers constantly improving and modifying products, some details may change. We reserve the right to accommodate these changes and to correct any errors that may inadvertently appear.

Warranties. Franklin Gun Shop is not a warranty repair station. We make no express or implied warranty whatsoever with respect to any merchandise, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The only warranties provided are provided by the manufacturers and are as contained in each manufacturer's package. Please consult the documentation that came with your purchase for details. We will, however, work with you in a reasonable and responsible manner to resolve any problems you may encounter.

Used Guns. All used firearms or other used merchandise is sold as is where is, and no warranties or fitness for a particular purpose or merchantability are made with respect to used firearms. If your gun does not work, bring it in and we will have our gunsmith take a look at it. If the gun cannot be repaired, we will allow credit towards the purchase of another firearm. No returns after 15 days for any reason. Purchasers of used firearms are urged to contact the manufacturers for a firearms owner's manual for such firearm.

Return Policy. Firearms and ammunition cannot be returned. We want you to be happy with your purchase. If you desire to return an item, just contact us by phone or in person, with the product information, date of purchase and the reason for the return. Please keep all packing material and documentation in the event your purchase has to be serviced or returned to the manufacturer. If you return the merchandise without authorization, you will be charged a 30% restocking fee. No returns after 15 days for any reason.

Our Prices. Franklin Gun Shop tries to maintain the lowest prices possible. These prices may change as products sell out and are re-supplied. Your understanding is appreciated when stock is sold-out and replaced with higher cost items. In the event of misprinted prices, we reserve the right to sell the items at the correct, current price.

We will attempt to match prices on NEW guns only for identical packages, as long as it is a published, advertised price from a real bona fide store. We will not match prices on hearsay, used guns, expired advertising or from stores (including Internet) that seem to have real good deals on guns they never have in stock.

Sales Tax. Tennessee residents are subject to 9.25% sales tax. There is a $10.00 (non-refundable) background check fee charged by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) with the purchase of any firearm.

Purchase Orders and C.O.D. Shipping. We do not ship C.O.D. Purchase orders must have prior approval for acceptance.

Financing. We offer an in-store layaway plan requiring 30% down and balance due in 30 days. If the merchandise is not fully paid for and called for on or before the 30 days, it will be returned to stock unless special arrangements are made. Layaways are set aside and if you decide to not pay the rest of the layaway for whatever reason, your down payment can be used as a store credit, but can't be returned.

Age Restrictions. All of our products are intended for adult use only or under adult supervision. You must be 18 years or older to purchase a shotgun or rifle, including ammunition, and 21 years or older to purchase a handgun including ammunition for the handgun.

Waiting Period for Purchase of Firearms. There is no waiting period in Tennessee, but there is a background check which involves your filling out a form. A photo ID with your current address is required. If you are a Tennessee resident, the photo ID must be a Tennessee-issued ID. If you have changed your address but not on your photo ID, you can do so online with the state at www.tennessee.gov.  Military personnel must have their military id as well as a copy of their Permanent Duty Station orders and any existing, current state driver's license. TDY orders are not acceptable.

Out-of-state residents purchasing a rifle or shotgun only may use their state ID providing it has a photo with current address. Out-of-state residents may purchase a handgun, but cannot take possession of the gun until it has been transferred to a Federal firearms licensed dealer in your state who will comply with the laws and regulations of your state in acquisition of the firearm. We will need an original, signed copy of the FFL license and street mailing address of the dealer it is to be shipped to.
