Children. We are a family business and welcome your family into our store, but ask that you keep a few things in mind.  We stock expensive firearms, optics, and some fragile items and ask that your children do not play with, hang on, touch, climb, or drop any of the items in the store.  Also, no running, skipping, hopping, or playfighting in the store.  In other words, please watch your kids, as parents will be held legally and financially responsible for the actions of their children.

Our Products. We strive to be certain the information contained in this website is accurate, both in word and in pictures, but with manufacturers constantly improving and modifying products, some details may change. We reserve the right to accommodate these changes and to correct any errors that may inadvertently appear.

Warranties - new firearms. Franklin Gun Shop is not a warranty repair station. We make no express or implied warranty whatsoever with respect to any merchandise, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The only warranties provided are provided by the manufacturers and are as contained in each manufacturer's package. Please consult the documentation that came with your purchase for details. We will, however, work with you in a reasonable and responsible manner to resolve any problems you may encounter.

Warranties - non-new firearms (pre-owned guns and demo models). All non-new firearms or other used merchandise are sold as-is where is, and no warranties of fitness for a particular purpose or merchantability are made with respect to pre-owned firearms. We do, however, offer a 30-day guarantee on all non-new guns that they will function correctly, or we will repair it at our cost or offer credit toward other in-store merchandise, at our discretion. No credit allowed after 30 days for any reason. Purchasers of pre-owned firearms are strongly encouraged to contact the manufacturer or check the manufacturer's website for a firearm owner's manual for their purchase.

Return Policy. Firearms and ammunition cannot be returned. We want you to be happy with your purchase. If you desire to return another item besides firearms and ammunition, please re-visit our store with the product information, date of purchase, and the reason for the return. Please keep all packaging material and documentation in the event your purchase has to be serviced or returned to the manufacturer. If you return the merchandise without authorization, you will be charged a 30% restocking fee. No returns after 15 days for any reason.

Our Prices. Franklin Gun Shop tries to maintain the lowest prices possible. These prices may change as products sell out and are re-supplied by our distributors and manufacturers. Your understanding is appreciated when stock is sold-out and replaced with higher cost items. In the event of misprinted prices, we reserve the right to sell the items at the correct, current price.

We will attempt to match prices on NEW guns only for identical packages, as long as it is a published, advertised price from a real bona-fide store. We will not match prices on hearsay, pre-owned guns, expired advertising, other stores' exclusive items that we do not have access to, or from stores (including internet stores) that seem to have real good deals on guns they never have in stock.

Sales Tax. Tennessee residents are subject to 9.25% sales tax on any purchase made in the store.

Backgound Check Fee. There is a $10.00 (non-refundable) background check fee charged by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) with the purchase of any firearm. This fee is a state fee and is not retained by Franklin Gun Shop.  Should you be denied by the TBI from purchasing a firearm when your backgound check is run, the $10 fee must still be paid.  TBI background checks are not required for purchases of true muzzleloaders or antique firearms.

Purchase Orders and C.O.D. Shipping. We do not ship C.O.D.  Purchase orders must have prior approval for acceptance.

Financing. We offer an in-store layaway plan requiring 30% down and balance due in 30 days. If the merchandise is not fully paid for and picked up on or before the 30 days, it will be returned to stock unless special arrangements are made. Layaways are set aside and if you decide not to pay the rest of the layaway for whatever reason, your down payment can be used as a store credit but cannot be refunded.

Age Restrictions. All of our products are intended for adult use only or under adult supervision. You must be 18 years or older to purchase a shotgun or rifle, including ammunition, and 21 years or older to purchase a handgun, including handgun ammunition.

Waiting Period for Purchase of Firearms. There is no waiting period in Tennessee, but there is a background check which involves your filling out a federal BATF&E form. A photo ID with your current address is required. If you are a Tennessee resident, the photo ID must be a Tennessee-issued ID. If you have moved but not updated your address on your photo ID, you can do so online with the state at www.tennessee.gov.  Military personnel must have their military ID, as well as a copy of their Permanent Duty Station orders and any existing, current state driver's license. TDY orders are not acceptable.

Out-of-state residents purchasing a rifle or shotgun only legal to own in their state of residence may use their state ID providing it has a photo with current address. Out-of-state residents may purchase a handgun, but cannot take possession of the gun until it has been transferred to a federal firearms licensed dealer (FFL dealer) in your state who will comply with the laws and regulations of your state regarding acquisition and transfer of the firearm. We will need an original, signed copy of the FFL license and street mailing address of the dealer to which it is to be shipped.
